Q:  How can I have a Stephen Minister walk alongside me as I face difficulties?

A:  It's simple. All you have to do is ask.

The process of having a Stephen minister paired with you as you go through your tough times is straightforward.

Stephen Ministers are not assigned without your desire and specific consent. If you ask, then Pastor Michael or Vickie Pottschmidt (Trinity's Stephen Ministry coordinator) will meet with you to explain the gift of Stephen Ministry you will receive when you ask and give consent. They will help you understand what Stephen Ministry is and is not. They  will let you know how Stephen Ministers are prepared to provide distinctively Christian care that acknowledges that the cure comes through and from God. They will get enough information about what you are going through to give you the best possible match: always the same gender: men visit men and women visit women. They will then assign a Stephen Minister who will contact you so you both can agree on where and when you will have your first caring visit. Then you and your Stephen Minister walk together through a powerful process of God's blessings and healing in your life.

Your Stephen Minister receives ongoing supervision, so that he or she can consistently provide the kind of care you need. Your relationship with your Stephen Minister will always be treated with confidentiality by protecting details and your identity.

If you would like to meet with a Stephen Minister, then all you need to do is ask. You do not have be a member of Trinity to receive the care of a Stephen Minister. To get started, contact Pastor Michael at mpottschmidt@trinityrichmond.net or 270-4626 ext 2157.
